The AHPA standing committees are composed of members and are set up to ensure the future success of the association.
Each committee has a chairperson appointed by the President and approved by a majority of the elected state officers.
The director of each committee shall be a state elected officer. The director oversees the activities of the committee and is ex-officio a non-voting member of the committee unless he is also a committee member.
The President is ex-officio a non-voting member of all committees.
The various committees are outlined below as to their duties and contact information.
The Executive Committee or Council is composed of the AHPA officers. Their duties and responsibilities are to carry out the day-to-day business of the association as outlined in the AHPA constitution and By-Laws.

1. Receives and acts upon any and all grievances filed against member(s) of the association.
2. The Grievance Committee chairperson shall be appointed by the Director and approved by a majority of the elected state officers. The chairperson may appoint up to four members to serve on the committee. If less than four, the total number of voting members should be odd in number.. The committee should be selected prior to the filing of any grievances. Members of the committee should be from different clubs so as to provide a good cross section of the membership.
3. The director of the committee shall be an officer of the AHPA appointed by the President to oversee the activities of the committee. The director is ex-officio a non-voting member of the committee unless he is also a member of the committee.
4. Committee investigates all grievances in light of the Constitution and By-laws of the NHPA and AHPA. Assistance from the By-laws and Constitution committee chairperson should be solicited for interpretations of the NHPA and AHPA Constitution and By-laws.
5. Chairperson reports to the Director the results of the committee's decision to uphold or deny a grievance.The Chairperson presents the appoinment of committee members to the Director for approval.
6. Grievances should be settled within 30 days if possible.

1. The Medical Exemption committee shall be made up of the Executive Council.
2.Members seekiing an exemption to pitch from a distance less than 40' before the age of 70 shall present a "Request for Exemption" form and Part 2 to the committree chairperson.
The committee may send a request for doctor's opinion if believed neccessary. Upon recieving the doctor's opinion and seeking the opinions of other members with knowledge of the member's condition, the committee shall vote and issue an acceptance or denial of the exemption to the member.

1. Review the Constitution and By-laws document for any kind of error. Errors are to include but are not limited to misspellings, grammatical errors, conflicting By-Laws within the AHPA document and in comparison to the NHPA By-Laws.
2. The Constitution and By-Laws document must be checked for clarity. There is nothing worse than a By-Law that can be interpreted in more than one way.
3. Proposed By-law changes must be presented in writing to the By-Laws committee chairperson.
4. To review and comment on, at the annual Club Officers/Executive Council meeting, any By-laws interpretations made by the Executive Council.
5. To review any and all proposed By-Law changes presented by the membership (see items 1, 2 and 3 above).
6. The Committee may make recommendations for passage or against passage when the proposed change is published in the annual February newsletter.
7. To work with the grievance committee on any question involving the By-Laws, when asked by the grievance committee.

1. To actively seek qualified candidates to run for AHPA executive
council offices that are up for election in the current year.
2. To conduct the elections of officers held at the State Closed Tournament site. The AHPA by-laws provide the procedures to be followed during the voting process and the procedures to be followed in the counting of the votes.
1. To manage and set the budget of the AHPA.
2. To manage the appropriation of funds taken in by the AHPA.
3. The Appropriations Committee shall consist of the Executive Council and the Tournament Directors.
It is the Hall of Fame Committee's responsibility to research and vote on nominees to be inducted into the AHPA Hall of Fame.
